George T. Schwend - President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Schwend, co-founder of Health Language, Inc. (HLI), has decades of experience in healthcare and IT companies including roles as a General Manager, Corning Medical; Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Lab Force, Inc.; Senior Vice President and Director, Western Star; President, InfoScience; and co-founder, Senior Vice President and COO, Healthcare.com (NASDAQ:HCDC), formerly HIE (NASDAQ: HDIE) and Healthcare Communications, Inc.

 

Brian F. McDonald – Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. McDonald has 17 years of experience in public and private corporations, including 11 years in the technology sector. Before joining HLI, Mr. McDonald served as Chief Financial Officer of Jones Cyber Solutions, Ltd. where he was responsible for strategic, financial, and administrative oversight of domestic and overseas corporate operations. Mr. McDonald also served as Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer of Carlyle Golf, Inc., successfully directing the firm's initial public offering.

Marc Horowitz – Senior Vice President

Marc A. Horowitz, co-founder of Health Language, Inc. (HLI), has more than 25 years of experience in creating and developing commercial markets globally. Mr. Horowitz was most recently Group Business Development Director for iSOFT Group PLC, where he was charged with consolidating global business activities and disseminating the iSOFT business proposition worldwide.

Other prior experience includes his involvement as a co-founder of Healthcare Communications, Inc. (HCI), where he was responsible for international and domestic sales efforts. He helped propel HCI's rapid growth to 1,400 clients in 49 countries and supported HCI through its transformation into a strong, publicly traded company on NASDAQ. Mr. Horowitz has also served as Regional Vice President of Asia/Pacific for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) licensing arm. In this capacity, he was responsible for global partner coordination of all World Cup intellectual property.

Brian Levy, MD – Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Levy has years of experience in medical informatics with development of terminologies, clinical content, and the use of the Internet by patients and physicians to improve care delivery. He leads a team of physicians, nurses, PhDs, and professional medical coders in the inclusion of terminologies, mappings among them, and other content in LE. Dr. Levy formerly served as the Medical Director of Multum Information Systems, building expertise in the pharmacy terminology and content domain.

Dr. Levy is also a practicing Board Certified internist in both inpatient and outpatient settings at a University of Colorado affiliated hospital and received his medical school training at University of Michigan. His numerous articles and presentations in the healthcare informatics arena detail his experience and expertise in this field.

Charles Page – Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

As a senior healthcare executive, Mr. Page has over 20 years of experience in healthcare benefits administration, business process outsourcing (BPO), software application development, and information technology solutions with companies ranging in size from small to Fortune 100. Before joining HLI, Mr. Page held positions in senior business development with BPO companies and executive operations with software development companies offering solutions into the healthcare payer market. Previously, he managed the third largest third-party administrator (TPA) in the United States, preceded by a career in the insurance industry as a senior marketing and sales executive for New York Life and Cigna Healthplans, Inc.

Mr. Page is a retired U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR) command pilot and air operations officer with tours of duty from Vietnam to Desert Storm. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arizona State University. He earned his Registered Health Underwriter (RHU®) designation from Northeastern University.

Brian J. Schwallier – Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Schwallier has over 24 years experience developing large-scale software solutions, including 10 years in healthcare. Prior to joining Health Language, Mr. Schwallier was a Senior Consultant with the IBM Consulting Group. Mr. Schwallier has participated in the design and development of numerous complex solutions across diverse technologies, and has additional experience in the development of systems for distributed printing, CAD/CAM, storage devices, and business operations. Mr. Schwallier  has held prior positions of Product Development Director,  Chief Architect, and Lead Engineer; and has been with Health Language since its founding.

Steven S. DeViney – Vice President, Professional Services

Mr. DeViney has more than 20 years of success in domestic and international markets, leading service teams in support of multi-year business management and healthcare IT engagements. Mr. DeViney has a strong background in developing and delivering programs to improve clinical processes using IT as an enabling tool; accessing client needs and proposing solutions; building consulting service delivery operations; and delivering enhanced customer satisfaction, operational performance, and process improvement.
Most recently, Mr. DeViney was Vice President, Service Line Executive for IBM Business Consulting Services (Healthlink Division) where he was recruited to build and lead two consulting practices. Prior to that role, he spent 15 years with Cerner Corporation.

Mr. DeViney obtained his MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. His undergraduate degree is in business administration and outdoor leadership from Colorado Christian University.
