HLI’s LE solution is capable of managing all the content from the standards bodies, as well as the local content developed by an organization. Since HLI works with all the standards organizations, as soon as an update becomes available, HLI will complete the analysis, resolve any conflicts and provide a standard file with the new update on a predetermined schedule. This file is then loaded into the customer’s LE Solution where any local code conflicts are identified and resolved. Once tested, the data file is then versioned for canonical identification and systematically loaded into reference files within the processing environments.

LE supports the inclusion of content from many different sources, including crossmaps to link-related codes, concepts, business rules and ideas.

Available terminology standards in the U.S. include SNOMED CT®, CPT4®, ICD-9-CM, HCPCS, APC, MS-DRG, LOINC, ICD-10, NDC, RxNorm, Clinical Subsets, CDT and many others that are designed for healthcare provider and payer organizations and not listed here today. LE can also manage and integrate pharmacy code sets from FDB, Multum, and MediSpan.

Mapping between content sets are also available from Health Language.  These mappings include and not limited to:

  • SNOMED CT to ICD-9-CM,
  • SNOMED CT to ICD-10,
  • SNOMED CT to OPCS-4,
  • ICD-9-CM to SNOMED CT,
  • SNOMED CT to CPT,
  • CPT to SNOMED CT,
  • DSM IV to SNOMED, and
  • ICD-9-CM Procedures to SNOMED.

Similar terminology is available for international markets. Examples of these include: ICD-10 (GM, AM, CA), UK Subsets, READ 2 and 4-byte, HRG, OPCS-4, DM+D, DRG-Germany, EBM, GOA, MedDRA, SNOMED for German, French and Spanish.

HLI has also developed consumer-friendly terminology for the patient or member.
