Our support services are available to HLI customers during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Support includes assistance in investigating and resolving technical issues involving HLI software or content offerings. HLI customers also have access to documentation, white papers, presentations, sample code, as well as software updates, enhancements and bug fixes for any HLI licensed software. Support services also include scheduled updates to any HLI content subscriptions that a client has purchased.
Content updates are made available on a defined schedule that is consistent with the release of updates from the various content provider organizations supported by HLI (e.g. SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, ICD-9-CM, UK TRUD, etc). These licensed software and content subscription updates can be downloaded by customers using a secure FTP site.
Professional Services Offerings
HLI provides a variety of professional services offerings. These offerings support both the initial installation and use of HLI software and content, training in the use of HLI tools, and consulting assistance with client content experts, technical experts, and more.
Training Services
HLI provides a set of predefined training classes designed to provide clients with the knowledge to install, support and use HLI licensed software and content. HLI is also able to develop client-specific training as part of a professional services engagement.
The following predefined training classes are currently available:
LE Install and Support Class
This two to three-day class provides HLI consulting assistance and education to clients regarding installation and configuration of HLI software and content into an LE domain. The result will be a working LE domain with a defined set of content loaded. This class includes an overview of the LE architecture, and the elements of the administrative toolkit used for managing an LE system once created. This class is most appropriate for existing or new employees who will be responsible for ongoing technical support of the LE system.
LE Content Management and Modeling Class
In this interactive and hands-on, two-day course, students learn to use LE tools to manage, maintain, and map lexicon content to support an implementation of clinical and/or administrative content. Class participants will learn to use LE to add new lexicon content or extend existing content using a variety of hands-on learning techniques. Learning will be via independent discovery or learning-by-doing, one-on-one coaching by the instructor, and small and whole-class discussions. This course covers the basic level of understanding required to make modeling and mapping decisions.
This class is most appropriate for individuals who will be responsible for managing the existing content and extending or adding new content, new maps, or new medical specialty subsets.
LE Content Update Class
In this highly interactive technical course, students learn to use LE administrative tools to update an existing HLI content subscription with a new version of content.
This class is taught remotely and is most appropriate for those individuals responsible for applying scheduled updates of HLI content to an existing LE system. It is also best to be scheduled prior to, but coincident with, a planned update of the HLI content to a newer version of the same content.
LE API Library Training Class
This two to three-day class is supplies education on the structure and use of the content contained within the LE API Library, as well as a review of sample code and/or use cases illustrating methods used by HLI and HLI clients. This can include the use of APIs to create reports, applications, web services, or other calls of functionality supported by the APIs. This class also includes time for discussion and design of potential use cases of interest to the client where the LE API library could be utilized.
This class is most appropriate for technically advanced individuals with programming skills who will be responsible for designing, building and delivering LE API capability embedded within an LE run-time licensed application. Since this integration work often involves embedding LE within an existing Licensee application, participants must have knowledge of such legacy applications in order to arrive at the proper design considerations for a potential use of the LE API Library.
New Terminology Importing and Exporting
LE can represent any terminology, from standards such as SNOMED CT, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, etc., to your own proprietary terminology. The HLI importing tools can be used to load any selected terminology into LE.
HLI professional services can assist clients who wish to import their own localized terminology into LE. This assistance can include the analysis of the local content set, and development of a recommended content model. The service can also be extended to include HLI assistance in creating an LE-compatible import file of the local content set, which can then be downloaded by a client into their LE system.
HLI can also provide assistance in creating a custom export of LE content, which can be used by a client to load into other applications or reference tables.
Mapping Services
HLI can provide professional services to clients who wish to engage HLI in creating maps between their legacy data to SNOMED, ICD, LOINC and other standards. HLI has sophisticated mapping tools and processes for setting up and performing small or large mapping projects. This service includes loading the local client terminology, evaluating probable maps to a standard terminology, finalizing the map and providing the final version to the client for loading into their LE system. This service is also available to clients who may not have an LE system, but who wish to gain HLI expertise in developing a map that can be imported into a legacy system.
Data and Content Analysis
HLI provides professional services to analyze data that may already be stored on a client system. This may involve searching free text data to identify potential terms to be codified and can include both clinical and administrative codes. The resulting information can help clients better analyze the data for research, patient safety reporting, or even disease surveillance purposes. It can also be used as support material for a business case for investment in LE solutions.
LE Integration Support
HLI experts can help develop the best recommendation for integrating LE into a client system to perform searches, navigate content sets, retrieve billable codes, create post-coordinated expressions, leverage established medical specialty or administrative subsets, and more.
Custom API Development
HLI provides consultative services in the use of more than 300 HLI APIs. These services can include identifying the best APIs to support specific client use cases; assisting clients to integrate LE into their own applications; and performing a design review of code client developers have written using the LE APIs.
HLI can assist in the development of client-specific customized applications with the HLI API library. Additionally, HLI can help optimize performance through a combination of APIs and through caching of content data.
