December 4, 2018 – Wolters Kluwer, Health announced today that it will collaborate with the Healthcare Services Platform Consortium (HSPC) to accelerate the non-profit’s mission of solving the interoperability challenge in healthcare. A focal point of current industry initiatives, the advancement of IT standards and interoperable frameworks holds the keys to unlocking the full potential of artificial intelligence, patient information and digital knowledge resources for better care delivery.
A leading industry collaborative, HSPC brings together providers, vendors and public and private stakeholders to tackle barriers to meaningful exchange of health information. Since 2013, the organization has worked to speed the realization of healthcare’s big data promise through an open marketplace of interoperable applications, content and services designed to shorten development cycles for next-generation solutions. Clinical and informatics experts with Wolters Kluwer, Health will join more than 270 HSPC contributors to help healthcare organizations align their IT strategy and investment with broader initiatives focused on better care coordination, clinical pathways and patient experience.
“HSPC is committed to resetting healthcare’s costly quest for interoperability through provider-level collaboration that draws from a shared platform community that help promote innovation,” said Oscar Diaz, CEO with HSPC. “Our work with Wolters Kluwer moves us one step closer to achieving our mission of improving health outcomes and quality through this vibrant, open ecosystem.”
“Interoperability remains one of healthcare’s greatest opportunities and challenges and pioneering new solutions will take industry-wide collaboration,” said Diana Nole, CEO, Wolters Kluwer, Health. “We hope that by working together with the HSPC community, we can help healthcare extract greater value from its immense data assets to achieve increased clinical effectiveness by improving patient outcomes while driving down unsustainable healthcare costs.”
